Rooted in Tradition. Growing for the Future.
Since opening our doors in Norton in 1902, The First State Bank has grown alongside the people and communities we serve by building a legacy of trusted relationships, hometown service, and banking that puts people first.
On April 2, 1902, The First State Bank opened its doors in Norton, Kansas, with a commitment to serving the financial needs of the local community.
A lot has changed since then.
Generations have come and gone. Businesses have opened their doors and grown. Farms and ranches have been passed from one generation to the next. Technology has transformed the way we live, work, and bank.
Through it all, The First State Bank has continued to grow and evolve while staying true to what mattered from the beginning: people, relationships, and community.
More Than a Century of Relationships
Our history isn't measured only in years. It's measured in the generations of customers we've had the privilege to serve.
We've watched young savers open their first accounts and later return to finance their first homes. We've worked alongside business owners as an idea grew into a livelihood. We've helped farmers and ranchers navigate changing seasons, expand their operations, and prepare for the next generation.
Those relationships are the foundation of our story and the reason we continue to put people first.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
